Job Type: Full Time 40 Hrs. Per week + Benefits . Must be available M-F

Salary: $28.00- $30.00 / Hr. DOE.

Location: Bell Gardens

Other: $300 Signing Bonus, paid at the 30-day anniversary & annual scholarship opportunities available.

OVERVIEW:

The Site Director is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Club’s programs, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the facility, and managing the site budget including program revenues, staffing, and general operation of the site.

The Site Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, 21st-century programs and services that enhance the lives of Club members and families. This individual will act as a key member of the management team and will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive strategy to increase and/or maintain the Club’s daily attendance by focusing on membership recruitment, retention, and building the Club’s presence in the community. The Site Director will regularly generate reports on programs, personnel, facilities, and general operational functions.

The Site Director directly supervises the Program Coordinator and program staff. Although the Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-day administration of the program, the Site Director is ultimately responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Club Leadership & Culture Development:

Sets the vision and direction for program operations and initiatives by using data to drive decision-making. Plans for and ensures that the environment, programs, and services prepare youth for success and programs delivered result in positive outcomes. Responsible for talent development and cultivation of direct reports. Provides support and guidance to ensure that direct reports are constantly challenged and growing both personally and professionally. Resolves conflicts, disputes, and/or concerns of staff, Club members, volunteers, and/or parents. Serves as the ambassador for the organizational culture, ensuring that the Club’s mission, vision, and values are upheld and embedded in all aspects of the program.

Community Relations and Collaborative Partnership:

Creates and implements a community and business outreach plan. Attends relevant community and school meetings; participate in local councils, roundtables, committees, and other collaborative opportunities. Establishes and maintains purposeful and positive relationships with members, parents, staff, community service providers, and community stakeholders.
Oversees and implements outreach events, meetings, Club open house, etc. Works with Resource Development team to identify opportunities for marketing and outreach within the community. Refers any grants or fundraising opportunities identified that support Club programs to the Director of Programs for possible action and approval.

Quality Assurance, Transportation & Facility Management:

Ensures a safe, clean, and positive environment is created and maintained producing a sense of physical and emotional safety and belonging for all Club members, staff, and visitors. Leads the development of strategy, systems, and processes and streamlines the effectiveness of operational goals, facility, and transportation management. Participates in the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a strategic plan, including demonstrated ability to focus on long-term goals and strategic outcomes. Manages administrative and operational processes, overseeing the expenses for the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, other items in the facility and vehicles. Addresses the future needs of the program and stakeholders through creative problem solving, informed risk-taking, and fostering new ideas. Ensures that transportation protocols and guidelines are followed.

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY:

This position reports to the Director of Programs. Specific supervisory and fiscal accountabilities would include:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises the program delivery staff, volunteers, and interns.

Budget Accountabilities:

This position directly manages the Club Site programs budget.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain the organizational mission, program objectives, and standards, discuss issues, explain or interpret policies, and provide/receive information. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advice, and counsel.

External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, and programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs; principles and practices of supervision and management; principles and practices of project management; principles and practices of youth development and quality programs.

Innovative thinker, takes initiative with a clear business purpose in mind, continually seeks to improve operations process; anticipates client’s needs and make suggestions for improvement; acts with integrity and expresses self in a clear and organized way, both verbally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Three (3) years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization managing staff and youth programs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Hold a valid drivers’ license and pass a motor vehicle driving record check. Pass criminal background check. Pass (negative result) a TB test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization managing staff and youth programs. Experience with youth development programming, planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating quality programs. Experience with a rapidly growing and changing organization. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Will be subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions based on activity location. Required to work around youth and adults where noise levels may be moderate to high during activities. Occasional travel may be required to support club transportation needs within BGCMLA provided vehicles. Physical exertion may be required to lift supplies and equipment.

Work is performed during Club site hours and weekends and/or holidays: however; the incumbent may be required to attend meetings or agency events outside regular Club site hours.
