Participate in a Virtual UCLA Research Study

Westwood, West Los Angeles

Hello,

My name is Dominique, and I am a doctoral candidate at UCLA. For my dissertation, I am conducting a study that explores how Black parents talk to their biological biracial Black-White teenagers (ages 11 to 18) about race and racial identity in the United States. You are eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria: (1) identify as a Black/African American parent (2) you have at least one biological biracial Black-White teenager (between the ages 11 to 18) (3) you are willing to participate in one 60-to-90 minute parent interview (4) you are willing to allow your child to participate in one 30-to-45 minute interview.

There is also one additional but optional discussion task that involves you and your biracial child, and this should only take about 10 to 15 minutes. All of these interviews will be done over Zoom. Please reply to this post if you meet the eligibility criteria and you'd like to participate. Let me know if you have any questions about this study or would like further information. Thank you so much in advance for your interest!
