Hello to whom it may concern, I am writing to ask if you accept Section 8 Vouchers. We're trying to relocate/port to Los Angeles. It's just me (mom) & my severely cognitively disabled child. Aside from section 8 our only income is my childs ssi. I know the stigma around low income individuals but I am running out of options & hope. We currently live in deep south Tx where for months I've been terrified for us to leave our apartment due to something happening rooted in racism. I have been through more than most people see in their worst nightmares and I am only looking for a chance to give my child the life & home I never had. I am drug, Alcohol & criminal history free. I have never been evicted. I pay all my bills on time.My credit isn't the best now because we lived overseas for 4 yrs, before moving back to the USA (because my child was abused in schools & homeschooling is illegal there) but over last 2yrs of being back in the states Im slowly raising my credit again & my payment history is excellent. I'm gay, black & I have ptsd & cptsd & my child is severely cognitively disabled & homeschooled so if you're homophobic/transphobic/racist or abliest just keep scrolling. I've moved about 30 times in my life and my child has moved about 10 so if possible I'd like this to be the last time..so I'm looking for a 2 bedroom house ( voucher is for 1 bedroom payment standard ,Im trying to get this changed with reasonable accommodation to a 2bedroom) in a safe area near grocery stores/ parks & easy access to public transportation as I don't drive. I"d also like a small yard. A diverse area would be nice too. I realize considering this is section 8 this is all asking a lot & believe me I have 0 hope after everything I have been through since early childhood but I'm trying to give my child a home not just a place to live so I'm trying the impossible.
